Eco Dry de HeiQ

Repreve certificacionAt JeansTrack we call WR to all our products that are hydro-repellent, that is, without being totally waterproof, they provide us with a finish that repels a moderate amount of liquids. This feature is important for many outdoor activities as it gives you comfort in the event of sudden rain, for example. For JeansTrack it is very important not only to ensure that this ‘water repellence’ finish is of quality and effective but also that it is eco-friendly, that is why we have collaborated with HeiQ to develop this finish without giving up our casual and urban look. HeiQ Eco Dry is a totally environmentally friendly product as it is fluorocarbon-free (PFC-free). With this technology we create a thin hydrophobic film achieving a durable water repellency. In addition, we use innovative technologies for the application and fixation of the product that represent a great saving of water and of the product itself.

Main features of our WR products:

  • Durable water repellence (DWR).
  • Maintains breathability.
  • PFC free
  • Eco-friendly and sustainable

The most surprising thing is that JeansTrack has managed to apply this type of technical finish to garments with a casual look. In this way we get clothes suitable for outdoor activities, but keeping an urban style so that you can continue to use that garment in your day to day. The jeans, chinos or jackets of our brand that you can find with this finish will last a minimum of 15 domestic washes. We always recommend washing the garment inside out using gentle washing programs, with not very high temperatures and avoiding the use of fabric softeners. The WR finish adds value to the garment without harming the environment.

Combed Cotton

Cotton is a plant and a natural fibre for manufacturing fabrics. Cotton fabric is made up of threads that are in turn made up of cotton fibres that have been separated from the vegetable remains of the plant that aren't used, such as stems, shells, seeds, etc. Depending on the quality of the cotton, these fibres may have different lengths and this length allows the cotton fibre to be mainly prepared in two ways: carded or combed. In order to prepare the fibres using the comb process, the cotton fibre must have a minimum length. Thus, short-length cotton fibres can only be prepared prior to spinning by 'carding', whereas long-length cotton fibres (of higher quality) can be prepared using the 'comb' process.

Combed cotton yarns are of a higher quality than carded yarns because they provide a higher resistance and better handfeeling, and this is reflected firstly in the fabrics, and then in the final garments, providing them greater durability and a high quality end finish.

LYCRA

LYCRALYCRA® is a synthetic elastane fibre that can stretch up to six times its length and return to its original state, over and over again.
It was invented by Joseph Shivers, a chemist who worked at North American company DuPont in 1959 and patented it that same year, giving it the trade name LYCRA®. When introduced for the first time, elastane revolutionised many areas of the textile industry.
Elastane has been commercialised in the textile sector since its invention, under the trade names NUMA®, UNEI®, DORLASTAN® and LYCRA®, among others. The LYCRA fibre is now the property of the company Invista. It isn't a fabric, but rather one of the fibres that comprise a fabric. Its properties are to provide elasticity and a higher quality than other elastanes. Nowadays it is mostly used in the sports industry, thanks to its flexibility and lightness.
This material works as a continuous filament as it can be either a monofilament or multi-filament.
It is used to form fabrics, but never alone as it is combined with other natural, artificial or synthetic fabrics that provide a more pleasant touch and volume to the fabric.

Main characteristics of LYCRA®

  • It can be stretched up to 500% without breaking.
  • It can be stretched many times and will always return to its original shape.
  • It dries quickly.
  • Sweat resistant (ideal for sportswear).

More durable fabric.
