PRODUCT DETAILS
The Amsterdam Jeans Short by JeansTrack is designed not only to be a short that you can use in any activity that you do in your day-to-day on those hottest days, it also has details that make it ideal for you to use on your bicycle trips around the city providing you with the comfort, resistance and security that other shorts don’t give you.
First of all, it is made of a cotton, polyester Repreve® and elastane denim fabric with great elasticity, which will give you great comfort. Repreve® certificates that these fibers come from recycled plastic bottles. To give it greater resistance, the pants have a reinforcement piece with a double layer of fabric in the area in contact with the seat. This will make the pants last much longer without breaking in that critical area. As a safety element, it has some reflective details that will improve visibility to traffic. Other notable details are the adjustment of the waist size by snap buttons, which will facilitate the adjustment of the waist without the need to use a belt. Although the shorts also have belt loops for the use of a belt if you need it. The inside of the waist has a non-slip rubber band that will prevent it from moving. Both the waist and the two back pockets closure are by snap buttons.
The Amsterdam Jeans Short is part of our Track Zero products, making it a highly sustainable product (Repreve® in this case). It has more than 70 points out of 100 and it is not only made with sustainable materials, but it has also been manufactured and processed in Spain with technologies such as laser marking, ozone washing or nano-bubble treatments.
Although the Amsterdam Jeans Short is a sports short designed for urban mobility, it can be used for other activities such as bike touring or bike packing. It is a versatile garment for these activities in which you usually combine sports activity with leisure, tourism or shopping. With these pants you will feel comfortable in any of these situations.
The design and manufacture of this garment have been carried out in Spain (EU) in compliance with all regulations regarding respect for the environment and social rights. As it is a local product, with your purchase, you contribute to the benefit of your community.
REPREVE® is a certification for those fibres made from recycled plastic bottles. Billions of plastic bottles go to landfills every year. But now you can do something about it. When you buy a textile product that bears the REPREVE® label, you will know that at least part of the fibres with which the fabric is being produced comes from the recycling of these bottles.
We are not just finding a new life for recycled materials. Compared to the manufacture of new fibres, fewer greenhouse gases are emitted and the use of water and energy in the process is reduced. That makes a big difference for our future. There are many ways to contribute to the care of our planet and its future. Today there are many materials called ‘eco-friendly’ or sustainable, but the most effective is the recycling of materials since it solves two problems such as waste management and meeting raw material needs in a sustainable and ecological way. All are advantages.
Using REPREVE® certified products is one more way to give back to nature part of what it gives us.
LYCRA® is a synthetic elastane fibre that can stretch up to six times its length and return to its original state, over and over again.
It was invented by Joseph Shivers, a chemist who worked at North American company DuPont in 1959 and patented it that same year, giving it the trade name LYCRA®. When introduced for the first time, elastane revolutionised many areas of the textile industry.
Elastane has been commercialised in the textile sector since its invention, under the trade names NUMA®, UNEI®, DORLASTAN® and LYCRA®, among others. The LYCRA fibre is now the property of the company Invista. It isn't a fabric, but rather one of the fibres that comprise a fabric. Its properties are to provide elasticity and a higher quality than other elastanes. Nowadays it is mostly used in the sports industry, thanks to its flexibility and lightness.
This material works as a continuous filament as it can be either a monofilament or multi-filament.
It is used to form fabrics, but never alone as it is combined with other natural, artificial or synthetic fabrics that provide a more pleasant touch and volume to the fabric.
